Dhadak 2 Release Delay

Dhadak 2, which tackles themes of caste and social discrimination, had been awaiting a censor certification for a while now. The film was originally set to release in November 2024 but was then pushed tentatively to March 2025. As reported by The Hindu, Dhadak 2 has now received a U/A certificate from the CBFC. However, this approval came with 16 specific modifications needing to be made.

One of these changes includes rephrasing a dialogue that was initially perceived as a political reference. The line “3,000 years of backlog will not be cleared in just 70 years” was pointed out and subsequently revised to “The backlog of age-old discrimination will not be cleared in just 70 years,” to avoid perceived allusions to statements made by Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram.
