US judge rejects deportation of researcher accused of having Hamas ties
Amid fears of a US government crackdown on freedom of speech in academic circles, US judge Patricia Tolliver Giles ordered that Indian researcher at Georgetown University Badar Khan Suri not be deported, calling Suri’s detention and expulsion “patently unconstitutional.”
