Akshay Kumar-led Kesari Chapter 2 Reintroduces Audience To Content-First Cinema
Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday-led historic courtroom drama Kesari Chapter 2 releases in cinemas on April 18 and has been impressing its audience worldwide. The Karan Singh Tyagi directorial hasn’t only received rave reviews from fans and critics but the positive world of mouth is only increasing the footfall for it in theatres globally.
The film – which tells the untold story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, is being extensively praised for its content-driven narrative, powerful dialogues and astonishing performances. About The Film
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is co-written by Tyagi and Amritpal Singh Bindra with dialogues by Sumit Saxena. The historical courtroom drama boast of a stellar ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar as Sankaran Nair, R Madhavan as Advocate Neville McKinley and Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill. The film also starred Simon Paisley Day as General Reginald Dyer alongside Regina Cassandra, Alexx O’Nell, Amit Sial, Krish Rao and Steven Hartley. The film has amassed Rs 42.94 crore at the domestic box office in the 6 day since its release
Giving the film a 4 star rating, Bollywood Bubble wrote in its review, “This courtroom drama – that tells the untold story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, has hit the nail when it comes to engaging the audience and leaving them with a re-ignited flame of patriotism.” It added, “This film should be watched in theatres.”
