Dino Mukk: A Creative Milestone in AI Filmmaking
A Malayalam language short film called Dino Mukk has captivated online audiences, recently surpassing 2.2 million organic views and continuing to gain momentum. Created in Kerala, this innovative project reimagines the agricultural town of Palakkad as a place where dinosaurs are farmed like conventional livestock.
The film masterfully blends stunning visuals with satirical documentary elements, creating an experience that resonates with viewers through its unique combination of familiar nostalgia and creative imagination.

The Visionaries Behind the Project
Dino Mukk was created by Storytellers Union, a collective founded by childhood friends with professional backgrounds spanning film, writing, and advertising. Though they’ve previously collaborated with Netflix and other major streaming platforms, they’ve now turned their creative focus toward exploring AI’s potential for innovative storytelling.
Director Gokul Pillai (@gokulspillaii) led his team through an intensive two-month research and development process to build a sophisticated AI video generation workflow. Once their system was perfected, they completed the entire film in just 7-8 days, generating over 2,500 AI images that were seamlessly integrated with documentary-style narration and authentic Malayalam cultural elements.
Why This Matters for Indian Innovation
Dino Mukk represents more than just entertainment—it’s a testament to India’s emerging leadership in creative technology. This project stands as the country’s first use of AI for narrative documentary-style storytelling with a satirical twist, establishing a new benchmark for what’s possible in Indian filmmaking.
The film has already garnered attention from:
- Major regional media outlets including Asianet, Mathrubhumi, and Manorama
- Popular radio stations such as Club FM, Radio Mango, and Red FM
- International AI studios from the United States and United Kingdom seeking collaborative opportunities
As Gokul eloquently puts it: “We believe AI is not just a tool, but a creative partner. It lets us scale our imagination in ways we’ve never done before.”
