Karishma Kohli, daughter of veteran filmmaker Kuku Kohli, recently got married to actor Mikhail Yawalkar at an ice-factory wedding. Karishma is the best friend of Katrina Kaif, and she worked as an assistant director in movies like Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Recently, she made it to the headlines with her jaw-dropping look at her wedding, which was not traditional but something that dug deep in the hearts.
Karishma Kohli embraces her vitiligo, and owns it like a queen at her ice-factory wedding
It was a decade ago when Karishma discovered the first patch of her vitiligo. In the beginning, she tried to hide it, but later on, she learned to own it. And she surely shelled out inspiration with her wedding look, wherein she proudly embraced what she owned, and the power in it was enough to brighten up every eye out there. Despite being a Sikh, Karishma wanted to wear a white gown at her wedding, and she did the same. For her day, she slipped into a beautiful white gown from the brand, Karleo. She wanted something that wouldn’t hide her vitiligo completely, nor did she want to show it completely, and her dress did proper justice to her wish.
Karishma Kohli’s ivory gown featured a deep back-cut and had an exaggerated godet inserted. The hemline was unlined, and to make it match her skin, the sleeve laces were created through digital imagery and hand drawing. The beautiful dress also had scallop designs on the back and the hemline and came along with Italian tulle. For the unversed, the dress took 500 hours to be made.

Katrina Kaif had the best gift planned for the newlyweds. The wedding was documented by House on the Clouds studio, and it was a gift from Katrina Kaif.
The couple got married in an ice factory, which now hosts concerts and art exhibitions. The ice factory was built beside a 150-year-old Banyan tree. The couple ditched traditional rituals and got married in simple terms by signing papers, followed by a lavish dinner spread and a party in the evening. The photos from the wedding are all over the internet and they are all things ‘wow’.
Karishma Kohli stopped hiding her vitiligo for a reason
In an interview with Vogue, Karishma Kohli revealed that when she first discovered the first patch of her vitiligo, all she wanted to do was to hide it but something happened that stopped her from doing the same. She revealed that her mom had cancer, and she later found out that she was given a similar type of medicine that her mom was also provided with. This was the time when Karishma decided to embrace herself the way she is.
Karishma Kohli not only looked the prettiest, but with confidence and power in her eyes, she ruled her wedding like a queen!
