Earlier, Radhika Apte directed a short, Sleepwalkers (2020), which incidentally starred her Hunterrr co-star Gulshan Devaiah along with Shahana Goswami. When asked about her directorial plans, she replied, “I am working on 2-3 projects and I am hoping that something materializes in the next 2 years. There’s a film I am doing with Vikramaditya Motwane. He’s producing it. I have not written it but I’ll be directing it. There’s another film which I have written but would love to direct. I don’t know which one will happen first. On the other hand, we are trying to make a show for a company in the UK.”

There was a point when Radhika Apte and Netflix were like a match made in heaven. A lot of memes were also made about their association. Recently, Anurag Kashyap went out against the Indian team of the streaming giant, alleging that they would have never greenlit a show like Adolescence.

Radhika Apte was asked about it and she said, “I don’t own shares in Netflix. It was a surprise for me and it was fun to see those memes. I was quite entertained. Since then, I have been working with Netflix on and off. I have worked with other platforms as much now.”

She continued, “I just feel that it would be good if we took a bit more risks; it applies not just to Netflix but everybody who is in this business. I know the feedback that people get when they are trying to make shows or films. It’s very restricting. Hence, I do agree with Anurag’s sentiment and I believe Adolescence couldn’t have been made in India the way it was made in the West. “

She, however, added, “However, I don’t know the ins and outs of this business so much. Hence, it’s really hard to comment on it. But I do understand where he’s coming from.”

Radhika Apte is known to be an avid solo traveller. She has often cited her adventurous experiences, which make for a delightful read. When asked about her next solo trip, she stated, “I have a child now. So, I don’t think it’ll be possible (in the near future). I was supposed to go on a trip this year. I go diving and I do that on my own. I couldn’t make it as I just gave birth. Nevertheless, I still hope to go somewhere later this year.”
