Sai Tamhankar Opens Up On Pap Cultural In Bollywood

When asked about how pap culture affects celebs daily, referring to no privacy given, Sai Tamhankar said, “It’s both ways, okay? If I’m willing to take that pressure, then it’s pressure. If I don’t give a damn, then it’s not pressure. It is. Aur yeh culture kisi ek ki wajah se nahi shuru hua hai. We are equally responsible, all of us together. So main kisi ek ko, ya main sirf paps ko blame nahi karna chahungi, because we’ve all contributed to this culture. Hum hi jaake dekhte hain ‘Guess Who’ mein ki kaun hai, kaun hai. So I think, it’s—I don’t think anybody in particular is to be blamed. We are to be blamed as a society, and we can work on this. I’m an optimistic person. I would like to believe that this can be worked out.”

About Bollywood’s Pap Culture

Celebrities in Bollywood have always had to deal with paparazzi who constantly follow and photograph them. While paparazzi help keep stars in the public eye, it often affects their privacy and mental health. Bollywood stars are often watched very closely, with every outfit, move, and rumour talked about and exaggerated by the media. Some stars enjoy the attention to help their careers, but others get upset about the invasion of their privacy and the way the media sensationalises everything. Over time, many actors have spoken out about the need for respectful journalism and less invasive paparazzi. Even with these concerns, the culture of paparazzi remains a big part of Bollywood, showing how much the industry values fame, glamour, and public interest in celebrities’ lives.
