Godzilla x Kong: Supernova begins production, to hit theatres on March 26, 2027

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have officially announced that Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, the next chapter in the Monsterverse saga, is now in production and slated for a theatrical release on March 26, 2027. This film will be the sixth instalment in the Monsterverse franchise, following the success of 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which grossed over $570 million worldwide.

Directed by Grant Sputore, known for his work on the sci-fi thriller I Am Mother, Supernova promises to deliver another epic adventure featuring the iconic Titans. The screenplay is penned by David Callaham, who previously contributed to the 2014 Godzilla reboot.

The cast includes returning actor Dan Stevens as Trapper Beasley, alongside new additions Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill. Principal photography commenced in April 2025 at Village Roadshow Studios in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

A teaser released on May 9 offers a glimpse into the inner workings of the Monarch organization, highlighting increased Titan activity. The teaser also features a fan-interactive hotline, allowing viewers to “report a Titan sighting” and receive an automated message, enhancing the immersive experience.

While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to continue exploring the alliance between Godzilla and Kong as they confront new threats emerging from the Hollow Earth. Fans can anticipate another thrilling instalment filled with colossal battles and groundbreaking visual effects.
