Karan Johar Debunks Rumours Of Using Ozempic For His Weight Loss

Karan Johar’s dramatic weight loss has been grabbing a lot of attention on the internet. A section of netizens even speculated that he might have been on ozempic to lose weight. However, the director has finally quashed all the rumors by sharing his weight loss journey.

Karan Johar on using Ozempic for weight loss

In a candid chat with Raj Shamani on his podcast, Karan set the record straight and revealed his journey had nothing to do with any medication. He clarified, “I have always been battling the bulge. I have tried a thousand different diets and 500 workouts. Nothing worked. After years of combatting, I did some blood tests and realised the issues I had, with my thyroid etc. Now people keep asking me ‘Are you on Ozempic, Mounjaro?’ and I am tired of it. People don’t know my truth. You don’t know. After 52 years, I finally feel confident. I’ve never felt lighter or healthier.”

Karan also opened up about his long-standing battle with body image issues. “I do suffer from body dysmorphia. It’s when you feel ashamed of your own body. When you feel awkward without clothes on. I go through that even now. I can’t even look at myself in the mirror. I used to be so conscious that I’d jump into the pool in seconds just to avoid being seen. Even now, after losing weight, I struggle to walk around in a towel. It’s not about being overweight, it’s about how you feel in your own skin. People think I’m fashionable, but I wore oversized clothes because I was ashamed.”
