Krushathil Pidanjhu Yeshu: A Soulful Tribute by Viju Jeremiah Traven
Kochi (Kerala) [India], April 17: Renowned surrealist gospel singer Viju Jeremiah Traven has launched his latest Christian devotional music album “Krushathil Pidanjhu Yeshu”, a poignant tribute to the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The launch event took place at Neo Film School, Pulleppady, Kochi, and was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. John Joseph, alongside acclaimed film director Sibi Malayil, music director Deepak Dev, actor Sijoy Varghese, and filmmaker-screenwriter Leo Thadevus.
The album, which deeply reflects on the sacrifice and suffering of Jesus on the cross, was released via the Room 6:23 production’s official YouTube channel. The lyrics were co-written by V.J. Traven and Anoop Balachandran, offering a heartfelt spiritual message. In addition to Malayalam, the album has also been released in Tamil, Hindi, and English, extending its reach to a wider audience.
Released in connection with Good Friday, the music and vocals for the album have been handled by Traven himself. Known for his previous gospel hits like “Yeshuve Karunayamane” and “Ente Yeshu Nayakane”, Viju’s work has been embraced by Christian believers around the world. His music albums are notable for their experimental creativity and musical excellence, garnering international attention.
Traven, who was formerly the lead vocalist of the iconic 90s Indian rock band Shiva, made a significant transition from the rock music scene to Christian worship music. Today, he is widely recognized as a singer, music director, and inspirational speaker. A native of Kochi, Traven emphasizes that his goal is to inspire the younger generation through fine arts and create meaningful opportunities for emerging talents to express their artistic passions.
The music production was managed by Alwin Alex, with the music video directed by Timmy Varghese. Sterry KS served as associate director and editor, while Jenson T.X. was the production controller. The art direction was handled by Jeemon Moolamattom, with cinematography by Antony Jo.
