Shreya’s opening appearance at WAVES 2025 was proof that her voice has always been a meditation for the soul. For the inaugural night, Shreya was seen stepping in royal glamour as she wore a classic Bandhani silk saree from the shelf of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The songstress turned into a Bengali bou (wife) as she gave a classic spin to the Bandhani saree. For her performance on the stage, Shreya exuded royalty in a shimmering golden Bandhani saree, which was draped in a Bengali style. The six-yard stunner was done in golden hues, and millions of tiny embroidery works were done to perfection. Shreya draped her saree in a typical Bengali style, with the pallu falling in the front. She looked no less than ‘Paro’ from Devdas.

Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the designers and creators of Shreya’s saree, spoke about the six-yard stunner on their Instagram handle. The post shared by them about the singer revealed that the saree was a handloom piece and was specially designed keeping in mind Maharashtra, Shreya’s performance at WAVES 2025 and captured royalty rooted with modernity. Shreya’s saree had a simple drape with the pallu pinned straight till the floor length. She pulled up her saree with a golden, shimmery three-fourth blouse that had a lot of tiny handwork everywhere. The work on the saree was done in hues of gold that made the saree look monotone. Shreya looked like a perfect Bengali in this saree, which she gave a spin to.
Shreya Ghoshal’s makeup was timeless
Shreya did not do heavy Bengali-style makeup but kept it simple, which has been in the trends. She had done heavy contour, along with smoky eyes, a glossy maroon lip shade, teamed with a black bindi. She tied her hair in a Bengali style, which looked with a clip and kept two wavy strands in the front. For the accessories, Shreya wore heavy golden green jhumkas, skipped the necklace, wore two rings and a bangle respectively. Shreya shared the pictures with a caption from the hit Marathi song, Apsara Aali, which read:

As per videos floating on social media, Shreya started off her performance with a power-packed Bengali song. It was poetry in motion, The singer, then followed by singing her iconic number, Mere Dholna to Apsara Aali gave her rendition to the songs. Shreya’s saree and voice were proof that she is totally proud of her roots.
