EXCLUSIVE: Sooraj Pancholi Comments On 'Some Actors' Receiving Films Even After 15 Flops In Bollywood

Sooraj Pancholi is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi-language films. The son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, he debuted with the 2015 romantic action film Hero, for which he won a Filmfare Award for Best Newcomer. He also starred in the 2019 action drama film Satellite Shankar opposite Megha Akash. In his FIRST podcast post getting acquitted in his 12-year-long legal battle with Bollywood Bubble, Sooraj Pancholi doesn’t believe that Bollywood can give second chances and calls himself a newcomer.

Sooraj Pancholi AGREES That Bollywood Gives Second Chances

When asked if Bollywood ever gives second chances, Sooraj Pancholi said, “I don’t really believe in the idea of a ‘second chance industry.’ People get a lot of chances. Some actors have given 15 flops and still have more films. I was watching a documentary on Arnold Schwarzenegger; his life story is incredibly inspiring. What he went through, especially when he tried to break into Hollywood, was a very tough time. But then one film came along that changed his life, and now he’s one of the biggest stars. So I think in life, whether it’s a second, third, fourth, or fifth chance, the film industry is just a part of it. Life itself gives you many chances, just in different ways.”

Sooraj Reflects On The Stigma After His Court Case

Speaking of stigma after his legal battle, Sooraj said, “It definitely is. See, stigma will always be there—you know, stigma will always exist. But I mean, I have to really perform and deliver twice as much as I could before. And in a way, it’s good, because it’s kept me so motivated. I really want to prove everybody wrong. There’s still a lot of learning to do in terms of the craft. But I think after a few more films, I could be at a very good stage in my life and career.”

Sooraj called himself a newcomer, “I am a newcomer. It’s like being a newcomer all over again. I’ve taken care of myself—my mind, my body, my soul, my energy—everything. So, I think I’m still a newcomer. I’m still starting out fresh. My meditation was going to the gym and sweating it out—whether it was weight training, boxing, or following a strict diet. That, for me, was my stress relief. That’s why I do it. And I would recommend it to anyone going through anxiety, stress, sleepless nights, or depression. Just have a balanced diet and sweat it out. Because you’re not just sweating out calories, you’re sweating out stress. That’s what everyone needs. I think it really helps reduce anxiety. I mean, I would pray internally—of course, I still do. It’s always ‘Har Har Mahadev’ from within.”
